Types of Grants

Funding will not be provided for:
- Direct services to individuals
- Individuals or organizations controlled by one individual
- Scholarship requests
- More than 3 consecutive years (General RFP Process Only)
- Other foundations or pass-through funding
- Organizations whose work or decision-making body is outside of a 25 mile radius of its 2025targeted communities (Denver, CO, Boulder, CO, Ft. Collins, CO, Leadville, CO, Alameda, CA, Blacksburg VA, West Lafayette, IN, San Luis Obispo, CA)
- Attempts to influence the election of individuals for public office
How can your organization access Guber Family Giving Fund resources?
Each year, grant review committee members will research and contact organizations for By Invitation grants. These are non-competitive grants. Grantees will receive a written invitation from a committee member and will be asked to complete a grant application. Committee members are always looking for organizations to research and potentially fund. If you would like your organization to be included in this list, please send a one-page abstract describing your organization to: [email protected]. Each By Invitation invitee must submit a grant application. Applications are due within three weeks of receipt of the By Invitation letter and before September 1, 2025
Grant applications for the General RFP Process can be accessed approximately April 1st of each year. Applications must be returned by July 15. All general grants will be awarded on or around October 1.
The total amount of funds distributed each year is determined by how successful committee members are in finding qualified organizations, the quality of the grant application received, and the funds available. Based on specific program needs, multiple year funding applications will be considered.
.2025 Grant Review Committee
The grant review committee consists of 7 Guber family members plus three spouses. Each family member is allocated funds each year for the By Invitation grant program. The member researches and contacts one or more organizations they wish to fund using their allocated funds. Each member also is an equal voting member in the General RFP Process review and award process.
